THANGADZI
LODGE

The lodge will be your home away from home. It's nestled in the heart of the conservancy, amongst the riparian forest on the banks of the Thangadzi River so wildlife roaming camp is to be expected.

ACCOMMODATION.

The lodge is made up of 5 separate thatched chalets which can sleep up to 10 people. Each chalet has a private veranda with stunning views into the bush and onto a tributary of the Thangadzi River. Each chalet has twin/king-size beds (depending on one’s needs), open-shelved storage and an en-suite bathroom. For the ‘Volunteer Programme’ the rooms will be same-sex sharing and, where possible, with people of similar ages.

There is also an impressive central communal area, dining area and lounge. To add to the splendour of all of this, it overlooks a swimming pool and the Thangadzi Lodge water hole.

Electricity

The lodge is completely off the grid and powered by solar energy.

Cell signal & Wi-Fi

Cellphone signal and 3G are sporadically available in certain areas of the reserve. We strongly suggest purchasing a Malawian SIM card on arrival.

Wi-Fi is available in the communal area of the lodge.

Housekeeping

Your rooms and the communal areas will be serviced every day. Your laundry will also be done by the housekeeping staff.

Safe & Valuables

You will have access to a safe to secure any cash or valuables that you may have.

Meals

Volunteers will receive three meals a day. Vegetarian and vegan options are available on request, before your arrival. It is also essential to inform us of any dietary requirements and/or food allergies before you arrive. We unfortunately cannot accommodate very specific dietary requirements such as gluten and dairy-free diets. However, you are welcome to bring along any special dietary items and our chef will prepare these for you alongside the standard meals.

Although our tap water is treated, we recommend you drink water from the dispenser we have provided.
